Amateur archaeologist, Erich von Daniken alleges to the wisdom of Thoth as an Egyptian deity who bestowed the knowledge needed to build the monuments of Giza, namely the Pyramids, if not built them himself. Daniken makes further attempts to associate Biblical Enoch to Thoth, by interpreting the meaning of their names. However, there are two antediluvian Enochs in Hebrew Genesis: (1) the lesser-known first Enoch, a son of Cain (Gen.4:17); and (2) the well-known second Enoch, grandfather of Noah, descendants of Seth (Gen.5:19).
