An antediluvian civilization is a purported civilization that would have thrived prior to the last glacial period up until its destruction by flood waters. The first known written record of an antediluvian civilization is the Sumerian King List of pre-Sumer that, according to the cuneiform record, the kingdom existed as early as 240,000 years ago until the alleged reign of Ubara-Tutu, "then the flood swept over”. Another example of an antediluvian civilization is Plato’s account of Atlantis.
